Even More Day 10 Missoula to Avon

My ghetto style saddle rigging that didn't work at all.
Missoula to Avon
100.02 miles
12.3 mph average

Well the padded ghetto seat seemed to work ok in the morning but as the day went on it became terrible. The saddle height was wrong even though the guy in the bike shop adjusted it to accomodate the padding - this caused my knees be on fire. After lowering the seat, my knees got a lot better. So the saddle was terrible and this was my toughest day riding yet. I almost couldn't finish the last 3 miles, my sit bones were in so much pain. But I did finish, and despite the terrible pain, the scenery today was breathtaking. What a beautiful ride! I also got a message that my amazing friend Rachel had her baby today, Adam David Birchwood, born on the Fourth of July!!! I tried out someone else's saddle as soon as I got into camp and arranged for our amazing crew to pick one up for me the next day in Helena. The day ended well with a fabulous dinner catered by a cafe in Avon. Wonderful tomato sauce, fresh fruit and homemade pie (5 or 6 to choose from)!
